Update on ONECARD Progress & Sales Period

We would like to report on the progress of the cryptocurrency payment card "ONECARD", which is developed and produced by BRAINCHILD HK LTD while participating in the CROSS project.

ONECARD has already begun user testing with 100 test users.

We will continue to improve the system based on valuable data received from the test users.

We aimed to start sales in early December, but sales will begin in January.

Foreign nationals residing outside of Hong Kong will need a passport to purchase ONECARD and verify their identity.
However, Japanese passport ownership is extremely low compared to other countries, at merely around 25%.

If the purchase of ONECARD is exclusively limited to passport holders, the number of eligible users will be limited.

Therefore, ONECARD has negotiated with card issuing organizations and test users to change the KYC regulations so that they can accept identification cards (licenses, my number cards, etc.) other than passports.

Regarding this change in KYC regulations, it will take longer than originally expected to negotiate with the card issuing financial institution and financial authorities, thus the sales period was forced to be delayed.

All the conditions for accepting KYC outside of passports have been set, so at the start of sales, it will also be possible to accept identity verification without a passport (e.g. driver’s license, personal ID card, etc.).

A special campaign will be held for XCR holders at the start of sales, so please stay tuned.
